My BMW was booked in with Rentec Autocare . I’d been Having issues with my car not starting breaking down . Being a single mum with a 4 year old I relied on my car everyday so wanted to get it fixed .asap After Rentec ‘checked’the vehicle they notified me that I needed a new alternator , this part would cost £295 plus vat total £394. I paid , work was done . I brought my car home few hours later car had broke down again ! Would not start !!!!! I was livid!!! I’d just paid for a brand new part for my car yet my car was not starting again ! Rentec brought it back in ....after checking the car again spending more time on it they came back to me and said ‘now u need a new starter motor your starter motor is ‘ faulty’ I was reassured this will fix the issue , starter motor cost £330 incl vat .i paid again for this part . I trusted the mechanic as anyone would . Work was done . I brought my car home Less than a week later my car broke down again. !!! Would not start !!!! I just start crying !! Couldn’t believe they still hadn’t fixed the issue . After charging me TWICE one part then another .& ..these were expensive car parts ,,the car was still breaking down ! And wouldn’t start ..at all .... In the end after charging me over £700 they forwarded my car onto a bmw specialist within a week the specialist got to the bottom of the cause why my car would not start (some faulty wiring welded in the gearbox . This repair was going to cost another £477 ! !!! I asked rentec to help with this cost as theyd already charged me so much & failed to fix my car ! But they REFUSED ! i can’t understand why Rentec never got to the actual issue . It could have saved me loads of money!! & time I feel like Id been ripped off ,,, I got parts placed in my car which did NOT help my car starting issue , I was in debt as a result of getting charged over n over . since this whole experience My mental health has suffered ,,,at the time I felt distressed anxious ,worried , at some points I didn’t think my car would ever get fixed , And I certainly couldn’t afford any more parts. ... Unfortunately my experience as a customer at Rentac Autocare was not a good .one.😕
