Dropped my car off the day before it was booked in for a service and MOT, the day after I had off from work whilst it was being serviced however I had no communication from the garage about any work that needed to be done or when the car was finished. I give the benefit of the doubt thinking that they must be very busy that day since it was just after the Easter weekend. The day after I received a call from the garage with the owner apologising that he'd been calling and texting the wrong number the whole time (I'd used this garage multiple time before, they definitely had the right number on record), I didn’t have an issue with this because it was a simple mistake to make, I stated that I was working till 6 that day so I would try to get the garage as quick as I can afterwards. However, because I didn’t have my car, I had to take the bus into town to get to work and back that day, because of this I was late getting back. I received a blunt toned call from the owner whilst I was on my way asking where I was. Once I arrive at the garage the owner met me outside his front door awkwardly glaring at me, where I apologised that I was late, he replies "Ye". I then wanted to check the bank details before transferring payment to him, to which he puts my keys and documents in a flowerpot and goes back inside muttering "I’ll have to go get my phone then". Already I’m very uncomfortable being there, especially because the reason I was late and the reason I couldn’t pick my car up the day before as planned was because HE was calling and texting the wrong number. He comes back out in silence and glares at me again until I ran through the bank details I had on record, and I transferred the amount over, afterwards he runs me through what was wrong with the car, I had to retrieve my keys and forms from the flower pot. Overall, the quality of work provided at this garage is exceptional, and I do give credit that they don’t rip you off like mainstream garages might. However, after this encounter of a selfish arrogant owner who seemed like he wanted to blame me for a circumstance that he had created I couldn’t recommend using their services.

I’m extremely grateful! This lovely family run business managed to take my car immediately as I suspected a seized calliper. They diagnosed and fixed all of the issues quickly and professionally at a great price. Now I’m back on the road to get to work as a nurse. Thank you!

Would not hesitate to recommend Lowman motors. Had air-con sorted, some intensive welding, and a MOT. Great service, reasonably priced, and totally professional. Dave and Andy are very approachable, and explain all they have done in easy to understand lingo. Will be using them again!

We took our car to David Lowman with an air conditioning fault. He traced it to a broken wire in the loom, fixed it and recharged the system all for a very reasonable price. He was friendly and approachable and took the trouble to explain the fault and how the whole system works. Would highly recommend him .
