William H5 StarI put my 2005 Mondeo in for a full service hoping that would solve the emissions issue before my next MOT, in a couple weeks. The plan was get it through mot and drive it for a few more months before getting another car. Having just had a brief look, they advised against the full service as some major overhaul of the engine costing additional some £600 at least before passing an MOT. This was good advice (although I wasn't too surprised either) . The staff were courteous and saved me wasting money. I had already paid online but customer services will be refunding the money. Though Halfords lost out in the short term, I will definitely remember them in the future for servicing (my next car!).Friday 24th September 2021

M Project1 StarHad a full service, then received a phone call telling me that due to age and mileage. 5 years and 26k that I needed new spark plugs. (OK for manufacturer recommendations) but they wanted to charge me over £100, (euro parts price for 3 £33) they told told that the auxiliary belt needs changing due to excessive wear. When I checked it it looks brand new. And I mean brand new.
I also needed new discs and pads. Charging £182 for discs and £124 for pads. This is just for the front on a Peugeot 208. Not a Porsche!
All in they wanted to charge me an extra £600. They get their parts from euro parts so I put all parts into a basket and it came to £103 so they wanted to charge £500 labour. Please don't use these cowboys! Main dealer would of been cheaper and more honest!Sunday 23rd May 2021
