I can't commend Alistair Reed highly enough They were recommended to me by a family member who had had good service there. I had let my MOT overrun and they squeezed me in without hesitation. I called Friday evening and received a text at 8 o'clock Monday morning to tell me my car had been done. Excellent service.

I only dealt with this business once as I just felt the chap on the counter (Derek) I think was his name gave us a load of waffle, I am a retired engineer and his technical explanation literally made no sense whatsoever. I would not rule this place out however on the basis of one staff members failings.

I brought my wife’s car to get it checked for a transmission oil leak. Stuart’s attitude was so bad, dismissive and disrespectful, made me feel worthless to be honest. My problem was that i could not drive the car long distances at its condition and therefore my options were limited. I asked specifically if there will be a cost for the service and Stuart said no. Following few days delay got a call for the cost which was a lot so I spoke to my wife and said will need to think about it. On arrival to pick up the car i was faced with £20 bill!! I explained the above to another guy who was there and his answer was “ Stuart will not say that” I said then I am lying I suppose, I paid and left. Few days later i called the owner. He said he would not dispute Stewart’ attitude but mechanically he is very good. Mr Reid also repeated that I must have been told of the cost beforehand. Eventually got the car repaired somewhere else and the cost was not that different from the quote they gave me but the attitude, dishonesty and accusations directed to me is really upsetting. Need to note my wife was not willing to bring the car herself due to previous uneasy experience. Mr Reid I can add the invoice number so do not please post this is fake review.

I only asked a few questions and then was told, in a very unfriendly voice and no eye contact, that it would be better to go elsewhere. I did ask why he had a problem with me - he repeated that I should go elsewhere. I can only conclude he didn't like my accent and brown-ish skin colour...
